Apology: Samuel Henry Patterson

In our edition dated October 4, 2016, we published in error a photograph of Samuel Henry Patterson in relation to an article concerning another individual who is a convicted paedophile and against whom it was alleged he had created a fake web profile to attract young women.

Although Mr Patterson’s photograph bears some similarity to that of the other individual, this photograph should not have been published and was done so in error.

We would like to make it totally clear that Mr Patterson is in no way connected with the article, the subject matter of the article, or the other individual.

Mr Patterson is neither a convicted paedophile nor has he any criminal record whatsoever. He has not created a fake profile as alleged.

We categorically retract these allegations in respect of Mr Patterson and unreservedly apologise to him for the considerable distress and embarrassment caused to him.
