Police have issued an appeal for information after a man stole a suitcase from a nun at Newry bus station.

A man offered to help the nun with her suitcase before running off with it, emptying the contents and replacing it with his own items.

The suitcase was eventually recovered by police.

"Is this stuff yours? Do you know who owns it? We have it in Ardmore for you," a PSNI spokesperson said.

"And when you do nip in to collect it we can have a chat about the suitcase you stuck it in."
