Appeal after money stolen from house in west Belfast

A sum of money was taken when thieves raided a home in west Belfast.

Police yesterday issued an appeal for information about the burglary in Dermott Hill Park last weekend.

Detective Inspector Rachel Wilson said: "Police received a report at around 5.20pm on Saturday, December 10, that entry was gained to a house sometime between 11.30am on Friday, December 9, and 4.40pm on the Saturday.

"The resident was not at home at the time.

"A sum of money is believed to have been taken.

"We are appealing to anyone who was in the Dermott Hill Park area between these times and who may have witnessed this incident or any suspicious activity, especially around midnight, or who has any information which may help police with their enquiries, to contact detectives at Musgrave the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1076 of 10/12/17."
