Appeal after murderer Alison McDonagh fails to return to prison

An appeal has been launched to track down a murderer who failed to return to prison.

Alison McDonagh was on work placement when she failed to return to Hydebank Wood Prison on Thursday, February 11.

She is serving a jail sentence for murder.

The 42-year-old has been described as having two tattoos on her lower right arm, one a ribbon saying “mum and dad” and the other “Mad + Mark, Courtney”.

She has green eyes and brown hair.

It’s thought police have carried out searches in south Belfast in a bid to catch the woman.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.
