Appeal after teenager attacked in Cookstown

DETECTIVES in Cookstown are appealing for information after a teenager was assaulted.

The attack against the 19-year-old victim happened at around 7.30pm in the Monkey Lane area close to James Street on Sunday evening.

A PSNI spokesman said the man was treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.

"A 29-year-old man was later arrested in connection with the incident and is currently assisting police with their inquiries," he added.
