Appeal for information after reported early morning robbery in south Belfast

Police in Belfast have appealed for information after a reported robbery in the Lisburn Road area in the south of the city.

Police received a report that at around 3.20am on Monday that the victim, a man in his 20s, was approached by a male believed to be armed with a knife who stole his wallet stolen.

The incident is understood to have happened close to the rear entrance of City Hospital.

His assailant reportedly ran from the scene and there was not reports of any injury.

Anyone who may have witnessed the robbery is asked to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101 quoting the reference 100 with the date 04/09/2017.

Alternatively potential witnesses can contact independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
