Appeal for Lisburn Peugeot driver who may have witnessed assault on young girl

The driver of a Peugeot may have witnessed an assault on a young girl in Lisburn, say police.

Detectives at Ladas Drive investigating the serious assault in the Tonagh Avenue area of Lisburn on the evening of Friday,  May 10 have issued an appeal for witnesses.

Shortly before 10.30pm on that evening a young girl in her late teens was attacked by an unknown male as she walked along the road.

Investigations to date have revealed a possible witness to the assault who is believed to have been driving a light coloured, three-door Peugeot car from the direction of Longstone Street travelling up Tonagh Avenue.

Police are asking the driver of this vehicle to contact detectives at Ladas Drive on 02890700305.

Anyone with information about the assault is also asked to contact detectives at Ladas Drive.

Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
