Appeal over cars torched by arsonists

By Adrian Rutherford

Two cars have been set ablaze in an overnight arson attack.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after the vehicles were set alight in Forkhill, Co Armagh, during the early hours of yesterday morning.

It was reported shortly after 4am that flammable liquid had been poured over a Vauxhall Corsa parked in Park Urney and then set on fire.

A second car that was parked close by also caught fire after the first car rolled into it.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage.

A van parked in the area was also broken into and tools were stolen.

PSNI Detective Sergeant Peter Stewart said: "I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anyone who has information which may assist police enquiries, to contact Detectives at Ardmore on 101, quoting reference 127 of 11/08/17."

Information can also be passed to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
