Appeal over cash delivery robbery

Police are investigating a robbery in west Belfast after a thief tried to stab a cash delivery driver before escaping with a sum of money.

The incident took place at around 11.45am on Saturday on the Suffolk Road and the robber escaped on foot towards the Lenadoon area.

An accomplice fled the scene in a red Volkswagen Polo.

The first man is described as heavy set, had a moustache, was 6ft 2in in height, and was wearing a baseball cap, grey blue hooded top and jeans.

Police appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
