Appeal over robberies

A man fled with a sum of cash after robbing a cash in transit van in Belfast.

It happened in the Finaghy area in the south of the city at around 1pm on Monday. It’s the latest cash in transit robbery to take place in south Belfast in the space of a week.

On Thursday morning, a man armed with a knife stole a cash box from a van on the Ormeau Road. Elsewhere, in Londonderry a masked man armed with a gun robbed a bookmakers in the Meenan Square area around 7pm on Monday.

Police have appealed for anyone with information regarding the robberies to come forward.
