By Staff Reporter

People have been urged to find out more about the benefits of becoming an apprentice.

The Apprenticeships programme offers training across a wide range of areas to people aged 16 and over.

Sarah Gillespie was working as a pharmacist without any ICT experience when she applied for an apprenticeship working with Fujitsu.

Since successfully completing the apprenticeship programme, which was delivered by Belfast Met, Sarah's career has gone from strength to strength.

She continues to work for Fujitsu and is responsible for managing and delivering software enhancements for customer systems.

She said: "My apprenticeship with Fujitsu through Belfast Met has opened up a world of possibilities for me."
