Area ban for murder bid accused

A man facing an attempted murder charge over a shooting linked to a dispute within the Travelling community has been banned from parts of west Belfast.

Thomas Dundon (47) was also ordered to have no contact with his three co-accused, including a schoolboy who allegedly fired the shots.

The restrictions were imposed as part of conditions under which he was granted bail at the High Court.

Dundon, of Laurelbank, Dunmurry, is accused of involvement in an attack on the home of John Delaney.

He is also charged with criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon in public.

A prosecution lawyer asked for Dundon to be excluded from Poleglass and Twinbrook.

Granting bail, Mr Justice McCloskey ordered the accused to be electronically tagged and relinquish any mobile phones.
