An Armagh city bakery has blamed rising costs for its decision to close its doors next week.

Bake My Day, which is situated in the Armagh City Shopping Centre, will cease trading on Monday.

Owner Paddy O'Kane made the announcement on his company's Facebook page.

In the post, Mr O'Kane added that the firm will honour all cake orders that have been taken up until Saturday, January 11.

"Please note a few orders for later in the year we will be contacting you to refund or recommend another cake provider," he continued.

"On behalf of myself and loyal staff, I would like to thank everyone who has supported us through our years of business. Paddy."

Customers expressed their disappointment and wished the owners and staff all the best for the future.
