Armagh man charged after £1,500 cocaine find

A man aged 25 has been charged after police seized around £1,500 worth of suspected cocaine in Co Armagh.

The suspect was charged with possession of a class A controlled drug; possession with intent to supply and also possessing fireworks without a licence.

He is expected to appear before Newry Magistrates Court on Wednesday, May 23.

The charges came after detectives from the Criminal Investigations Branch organised crime unit searched a house in O'Donoghue Park, Bessbrook, yesterday morning.

Approximately £1,500 of suspected cocaine and a number of fireworks were seized during the search, the PSNI said later.

Detective Inspector Millar said: "We are committed to tackling the issue of drugs and would appeal to the public to speak to us if they have any concerns or information regarding drugs in their area."
