Armed raiders target business in south Belfast

Police in south Belfast are hunting for two men in connection with the armed robbery of a business.

The incident happened at commercial premises on the Ormeau Road at around 9.40pm on Monday.

Detectives are investigating reports that two men entered the premises, one armed with what is believed to be a knife.

A member of staff was threatened before the robbers made off with a sum of money and cigarettes.

The men then made off in the direction of nearby Ormeau Park.

Police said the men are both described as being approximately 5ft 7ins to 5ft 8ins tall and were wearing dark hoodies.

“No staff were injured, however they were left badly shaken,” a PSNI spokesman said.
