Armed robbers threaten Subway staff before making off with cash

Two men, one armed with knife, made off on foot to city centre

Subway fast food staff were held up by two men, one brandishing a knife, in west Belfast on Monday evening.

The two men made off on foot from the Falls Road shop in the city centre direction after stealing a sum of cash in the armed robbery.

Police have reported that no member of staff was injured in the incident.

Detectives  in west Belfast issued the description of the two men they are seeking to talk to - both work blue Puffa jackets and were around 5'9" tall and of thin build.

One man also wore a blue New York Yankee baseball cap and one was carrying a green backpack in the robbery which took place around 7pm.

Detective Sergeant Andree Madden appealed for any witnesses to contact Woodbourne PSNI on 101.
