Arrow is fired at girl (14) on Ballymurphy Road in west Belfast

A teenager has narrowly escaped injury after an arrow was shot at her.

The incident happened at the gates of a school on the Ballymurphy Road in west Belfast at around 7pm on Monday.

The 15cm long arrow only missed the 14-year-old girl because her friend shouted out a warning.

A PSNI spokesman said the young girl was very lucky to have escaped uninjured.
