Arson attack leaves Belfast building destroyed

Firefighters battled a huge blaze in Belfast on Tuesday night which left a building destroyed.

The fire erupted in the vacant building on the Holywood Road at around 9pm. Scores of firefighters were called to the scene.

Police are treating the fire as deliberate.

Sergeant Anne McCourt appealed to anyone with information to contact police at Strandtown PSNI Station, on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1383 09/05/17. Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
