Attack leaves victim critical

A 34 year old man has been left in a critical condition at the Royal Victoria Hospital after an incident in east Belfast on the evening of July 22.

According to police the man sustained head injuries following the incident in the Garnerville Gardens area shortly before 9:30pm.

It is alleged that the man either fell off the bonnet of a car or was hit by the vehicle.

One man has been arrested, questioned and released on bail pending further enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information is asked to contact police at Strandtown or Lisburn Road stations on 0845 600 8000.

Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
