Baby news: Belfast councillor Julie-Anne announces pregnancy with partner Kerry

Belfast councillor Julie-Anne Corr-Johnson has announced she is pregnant.

The PUP representative took to Facebook on Wednesday to announce that her and partner Kerry are expecting twins to arrive in September.

"Our dreams have come true and given the size of my bump already, Kerry and I feel the time is now right to share our good news with you," she said ending with #JohnstonTwins #Doubletrouble #DueSept2017.

Corr-Johnston (29) was Northern Ireland's first openly lesbian loyalist politician.

In November 2014 she walked down the aisle by her mother when she entered into a civil partnership with Kerry Johnston.

In an interview with the Belfast Telegraph just after the union she spoke of she struggles with her identity and on how she felt she was an outcast because of her sexuality but that she one day hoped to become a mum.
