Baby treated after 'arson attack'
A baby boy was treated for smoke inhalation following a suspected arson attack on a house.
A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson endangering life after the fire in Newtonabbey.
The incident happened in the Glenville Park area early on Wednesday, during which petrol was poured through the letterbox of a house and set alight.
The three-month-old baby had to be treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, the Fire and Rescue Service said. A man in the house was unhurt.
The blaze was extinguished before police or firefighters arrived.
An Northern Ireland Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed the baby was checked for smoke inhalation but was not taken to hospital.
