Ballymoney 'plunged into sadness' after Denise Glenn's body recovered
The woman whose body was recovered from Carrickfergus Marina has been named locally as Denise Glenn.
It is understood Ms Glenn, who is from the Ballymoney area, went missing while on a weekend shopping visit to the town on Saturday.
Police and the emergency services including the coastguard attended the scene on Sunday afternoon.
A post mortem examination is due to take place in due course.
Ballymoney UUP councillor Darryl Wilson said that the town had been "plunged into sadness" with news of Ms Glenn's death.
"Denise was a lovely girl well known in the local area, she will be very sadly missed by her family, friends, work colleagues and the entire community," Councillor Wilson said.
"Can I pass on my deepest sympathies to all impacted by this awful tragedy."
