Bangor attack: PSNI arrest two men after 'serious sexual assault' on woman in her 20s

The PSNI has arrested two men following a serious sexual assault on a woman in her 20s in the Bangor area during the early hours of Saturday morning.

The suspects, both aged 23, were detained after officers stopped a car on the Seacliff Road in Bangor on Monday afternoon.

The vehicle has also been seized for examination.

The woman, aged in her 20’s, was walking along High Street shortly before 2am on Saturday when she was offered a lift home by two unknown males.

The woman walked into Holburn Avenue Car Park and got into the rear seat of the car. They drove out of the car park and travelled towards Groomsport. The males stopped the car in a dark area and the woman was sexually assaulted.

Detectives appealed for anyone who witnessed the assault or anyone who was in the Bangor area at the time to contact them at Ladas Drive on the non-emergency number 101.
