Baroness Brady sees funny side of confusion over Northern Ireland Secretary
A sports body has written to West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady in error - to congratulate her on becoming the new Northern Ireland Secretary.
In the latest case of mistaken identity, Lord Sugar's Apprentice sidekick - Conservative peer Baroness Brady - received a letter from the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), congratulating her on her new role here, and thanking her for her efforts as Culture Secretary. She received the letter at the House of Lords, and responded with humour, tweeting a photograph of the correspondence, commenting "I think this was meant for Karen Bradley! Will pop it back in the post!"
The BHA later apologised on Twitter: "Dear Baroness Brady. We would like to offer our sincere apologies for sending this letter to you. It was an administrative error which should not have occurred and we apologise for any inconvenience caused."
Baroness Brady replied: "No worries at all. I have posted it back to you!"
Two weeks ago when Karen Bradley was appointed, Baroness Brady revealed that people believed she was the new Northern Ireland Secretary.
"This time last year people thought I was the Culture Secretary! Now they think I am the new Northern Ireland Secretary! It's Karen (with one R) Bradley (with a E)!," she posted on her Twitter feed.
