Be the first to board Titanic venue in 2012

Lovers of Belfast’s most famous export will be buoyed by the release of the first tickets to the much-anticipated Titanic Belfast today.

Titanic Belfast is an iconic six-floor building featuring nine interpretive and interactive galleries that explore the sights, sounds, smells and stories of the doomed liner, as well as the city and people who made her.

Titanic Belfast is opening in spring 2012 for the centenary of Titanic’s ill-fated maiden voyage.

From noon today until Christmas Eve members of the public are being given the chance to snap up tickets for the eagerly-awaited attraction.

For ‘Twelve Titanic Days’ between now and Christmas Eve, anyone buying Titanic Belfast tickets online will receive a 5% discount and be entered into a daily prize draw.

Prizes include highly sought after tickets to the MTV concert taking place next spring in Titanic’s slipway, as well as a unique opportunity to meet Titanic explorer, Dr Robert Ballard, when he speaks in Titanic Belfast on April 14, the centenary of the night the ship struck that infamous iceberg.

Titanic Belfast is the world’s largest Titanic exhibition and is expected to attract in excess of 450,000 visitors next year — 150,000 of whom will come from outside Northern Ireland.

The building will also house temporary exhibits, a 1,000-seat banqueting suite, education and community facilities, catering and retail space and a basement car park. Visitors will learn about the construction of RMS Titanic and the rich story of Northern Ireland’s industrial and maritime heritage.

Claire Bradshaw, Titanic Belfast’s marketing manager, said: “With just 12 days to go before Christmas we think that tickets to Titanic Belfast will be an ideal present for young and old alike.

“This is the world’s largest Titanic attraction and will be one of the most exciting and engaging visitor experiences to open anywhere in the world in 2012.”

Tickets for Titanic Belfast can be bought online at www.titanicbelfast.com, where visitors can avail of a 5% discount.

Tickets are also available via telephone on +44 (0)28 90 766399 or at the Belfast Welcome Centre.
