A bus has crashed into a coffee shop in the centre of Belfast for the second time in three months.

The crash happened on the Lower North Street just off of Royal Avenue in the centre of the city.

The bus stuck the overhang of the cafe, tearing away part of it and pulling debris onto the ground.

A similar crash happened in September when an 11a service hit the same cafe.

There were three passengers on board the service at the time and there were no reports of injuries.

In its statement on Wednesday, a Translink spokeswoman said: "A Metro bus had a minor collision with a shop awning around 11.30am this morning at Lower North Street in Belfast.

"There were 7 passengers on board the service. There were no injuries. Translink has launched an investigation."
