A Belfast woman has made an appeal to the public to keep their eyes peeled when they are out and about the city after she lost her engagement ring.

Joanne Brown lost the ring, described as white gold with a large diamond in the centre and encrusted with diamonds around the actual ring.

She is sure it was lost on Friday afternoon while in the High Street area. She had been to Dunnes before heading to DV8 and on entering Zara noticed it was gone.

She spent over three hours scouring the area for the ring only to eventually call it a day.

"It's just awful," she said.

"After all that time I just had to accept it was lost and go home. My head has been all over the place since. It was just so strange when I realised it was missing, I'm devastated."

Joanne took the plunge in more ways than one when she accepted partner of eight years Simon Ashe's proposal.

Whisked away to Vegas for her 30th he popped the question while they were on a plane ready to jump for a sky dive.

"He asked the question and then jumped out the plane and left me," she laughed.

"It was crazy."

Anyone who can help Joanne find her ring can call her on 07522939550.

"I would be very grateful for anyone that can help," she added.
