Belfast City Airport emergency after technical issue onboard aircraft

Emergency services have responded to an incident involving a small aircraft at Belfast City Airport.

On Friday afternoon a two-seater privately-owned aircraft flying in the skies above the city had a technical issue and radioed to the control tower at the airport.

An emergency call out was made, with the police, Fire Service and ambulance responding.

The two individuals onboard were able to bring down the aircraft and walked away unharmed.

The PSNI confirmed that they attended an incident at the airport, but that it had since been resolved.
