Belfast city centre road closed during police 'incident' - rail services disrupted

Police closed a Belfast city centre street while officers dealt with an "incident" - it has now reopened to traffic.

Police cars blocked Botanic Avenue between Donegal Pass and Lower Crescent just after 4pm on Friday. It reopened just before 4.30pm.

NI Railways said disruption was expected to rail services going through Botanic train station due to a "trespass incident".

Services operated through Donegal pass and Ormeau Road in both directions.

A PSNI spokeswoman said: "Botanic Avenue in Belfast has now re-opened, between Donegal Pass and Lower Crescent, following an earlier incident."
