Belfast city centre without water after main bursts - Royal Avenue closed
Businesses and homes in Belfast city centre have been left without water after a main burst on Royal Avenue.
A NI Water spokesperson said staff are on site and emergency repair work will begin "as soon as possible".
Royal Avenue is closed at the junction of North Street and Donegall Street to allow repair teams to carry out the work.
It is expected to reopen around 11pm.
"Rezoning (bringing water from other water networks) is currently taking place and efforts are being made to have cars that are parked at the location of the burst removed," the spokesperson added.
“Real time updates will be available on our website at www.niwater.com as this work progresses.
"We would like to thank affected customers for their patience and assure them that we are working as quickly as possible to complete this repair."
