Belfast DJ David Holmes scores top accolade

Belfast DJ has David Holmes has won the prize for best original film score at the Ivor Novello Awards.

Holmes was handed the gong at Grosvenor House on London's Park Lane for the score for '71, an historical action film set in Northern Ireland.

It stars Jack O'Connell as a British soldier who becomes separated from his unit during a riot in Belfast at the height of the Troubles in 1971.

Wicklow singer Hozier was awarded Best Song Musically and Lyrically for Take Me To Church.

Ed Sheeran continued his winning streak after being named songwriter of the year.

The Special Anniversary Award was given to Live Aid founders Bob Geldof and Midge Ure.
