Belfast hurlers taking aim at Guinness Book of Records

A WEST Belfast school is set to attempt to hurl its way into the Guinness Book of Records.

St Mary's CBS will next week stage what it hopes will be the largest hurling lesson ever held, with more than 600 pupils to take part in the training session next Friday, under the watchful eye of Guinness World Records adjudicators.

Principal John Martin said the boys and staff are very excited about the world record effort.

"We are very proud of our hurling tradition in St Mary's and last year the senior team narrowly lost out on winning the All Ireland colleges title," he said.
