Belfast man ‘hit and urinated on his partner’
A man urinated on his partner after she was battered and imprisoned in his home, it was alleged in the High Court.
Prosecutors said the woman also claimed Raymond Brownlee tried to smother her with a pillow during a marathon drinking session at his flat in east Belfast.
A judge was told she eventually escaped and ran, semi-naked and covered in bruising, to a group of workmen.
Brownlee (38), of Templemore Avenue, Belfast, denies charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and false imprisonment.
He was refused bail due to the fear of further drinking and violence if he was released.
The court heard the alleged offences took place last October after Brownlee and his partner — both alcoholics — had been drinking for two days in a row.
