A man is in hospital after he was hit by a police car in Belfast.

The pedestrian was injured following the one-vehicle incident on the Newtownards Road in the east of the city at around 10.20pm on Tuesday.

A PSNI spokesman said: "The injured man was taken to hospital following the incident. A police vehicle was involved in the road traffic collision and the office of the Police Ombudsman has been informed."
