Belfast nursing home worker cleared of sexual abuse
A care worker has been acquitted of sexually abusing a female colleague in a Belfast nursing home.
A jury returned not guilty verdicts on three charges against Rene Razon (47).
Originally from the Philippines and with an address at Springvale Gardens in Belfast, Razon had been accused of sexually assaulting a 23-year-old colleague at the home where they both worked in May and June 2016.
The woman told police she was targeted by Razon on several occasions, including in the staff room.
However, when he was arrested and questioned about the woman's allegations, Razon denied anything had occurred. When he gave evidence at his trial at Belfast Crown Court earlier this week, Razon repeatedly said: "I didn't do anything to her."
He was unanimously cleared of one charge, with majority not guilty verdicts returned on the other two charges.
