Belfast road reopened after security alert is cleared

Police have reopened North Queen Street in Belfast after an earlier security alert was cleared.

Police had warned residents of suspicious objects left in the area on Wednesday night.

The road was closed on Thursday morning, between the Limestone Road and Mervue Street, but police advised at 1.30pm that the alert was over.

Meanwhile, an incident in the Teiges Hill Road area of Brookeborough in Co Fermanagh has been declared an elaborate hoax after a suspicious object was examined by the Army bomb squad.

The road was closed and diversions put in place on Wednesday evening. It has now been reopened.
