Belfast RVH doctor probed for claims of misdiagnosing disorders
A senior medic at the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) in Belfast is being investigated over claims of misdiagnosing disorders, it has emerged.
The Belfast Health Trust is expected to make a statement to the media today in relation to an investigation into the serious allegations.
It's understood the senior doctor at the RVH has been accused of the misdiagnosis of conditions including Parkinson's disease.
The number of patients affected by the claims is not yet clear.
Concerns were raised following a report from the Royal College of Physicians' (RCP) Northern Ireland office to the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust (BHSCT).
A spokesman for the BHSCT said: "The trust is aware of the report which we are investigating and we will take appropriate action."
The trust is expected to make further announcements about the investigation and the RCP report today.
