Armed robbers have stolen cash and cigarettes from a Belfast shop - the third raid on the same store in a month.

The incident took place at the Mace on the Suffolk Road in west Belfast last Tuesday, March 27, but details were only released yesterday.

Police said: "Two men, one armed with a hammer, entered the shop at around 9.15pm and threatened members of staff.

"A sum of money and a quantity of cigarettes were then taken by the men who made off on foot in the direction of steps leading towards Glenveagh Park.

"No members of staff were physically injured as a result of the incident.

"The man carrying the hammer was wearing light grey tracksuit bottoms, a light grey hooded top, a black scarf, dark trainers with white soles, a dark coloured hat and gloves.

"The second wore a distinctive coat, which was bright yellow with dark coloured sleeves and hood and white cuffs."
