Police are investigating after a taxi driver was robbed by a man armed with a knife in west Belfast.

The robbery at Kilmore Close happened at around 10.40pm on Wednesday.

The driver had picked the man up at a taxi rank outside the Great Northern Mall in Great Victoria Street in the city centre shortly after 10.30pm and had driven the short distance to Kilmore Close when the man produced a knife and threatened the driver.

Money was handed over and the man made off on foot from the scene.

He is described as being a white male, aged in his late 20s, of thin build, with short hair and had a Belfast accent.

The PSNI urged anyone with any information about this incident to contact detectives at Musgrave on 101 quoting reference number 2139 17/06/20.
