The Belfast Telegraph has cleaned up at the 2013 CIPR Media Awards, winning the prestigious top prize of Newspaper of the Year – for the second year running.

Deborah McAleese's story 'Provo spy is a Derry school's deputy head' won Scoop of the Year and Weekend was named Supplement of the Year.

Deputy editor Gail Walker scooped the prize for Feature Journalist of the Year.

Our consumer correspondent Claire McNeilly was named Business Journalist of the Year.

Held for the first time at Belfast's Mac theatre and hosted by broadcaster Eamonn Holmes, the awards – now in their 20th year – promote and reward excellence by recognising the brightest stars in the industry.

Sister paper The Sunday Life was named Sunday Newspaper of the Year and one of its journalists, Sara Girvin, won the Martin O'Hagan Newcomer Award.
