Belfast Telegraph named Newspaper of the Year: Paper scoops host of accolades at CIPR Media Awards 2014

The Belfast Telegraph has been crowned Newspaper of the Year at the 21st Coca-Cola CIPR Northern Ireland Media Awards - with the paper picking up a host of other awards in the process.

The newspaper won a broad range of awards including the Daily Newspaper of the Year category.

The judges said: “The Belfast Telegraph stands out in front of all the other papers every day.  It displays amazing front page leads and features – it wins hands down.”

Among the paper's other winners was editor Mike Gilson, who won Journalist of the Year.

Ex-Belfast Telegraph editor Martin Lindsay was also presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
