Belfast Telegraph team in Ben Nevis challenge
An intrepid team of 16 aspiring mountaineers are set to take on the UK's highest peak.
The group all work for the Belfast Telegraph's advertising and circulation departments, but today will swap their computers for hiking boots as they test themselves to the maximum.
The 16 left Belfast yesterday for Scotland to prepare for today's mammoth challenge.
The walk to the top of Ben Nevis at 4,000ft will involve a gruelling six-hour trek.
However, it is all in aid of a good cause with all funds raised going to Cancer Focus Northern Ireland.
The team has been raising money in a variety of ways – from whipping up some delicious cakes which were sold in the office, to street collections in Belfast, Lisburn and Holywood. While they have raised several thousand pounds already, they hope to build the pot up to £9,000.
They prepared with a practice hike to the top of Slieve Donard.
