Concerns have been raised over the staffing levels of a Belfast out-of-hours GP service after it emerged there has been a 30% drop in the number of GPs signed up to the scheme over the last five years.

The Bel-Doc service covers north and west Belfast and it has been suspended over three weekends in the last few months due to chronic GP shortages. Patients in need of "urgent care" were instead directed to make contact with the urgent care centre at the Royal Victoria Hospital.
