Belfast's Crescent Arts Centre is building of year

The revitalised Crescent Arts Centre has been named Northern Ireland’s building project of the year at a prestigious awards ceremony.

The building wowed judges at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors awards and won the community benefit category as well as the overall prize.

The landmark, one of Belfast’s most historic listed sites, reopened in April last year after a £7.2m refurbishment which took 18 months to complete.

Judges said the community centre was “spectacular”.
