Blythe Street security alert: 'Viable explosive device' made safe

A viable improvised explosive device, discovered in the Blythe Street area of south Belfast, has been made safe by Army technical officers.

The PSNI said the security alert is now over and the device was removed for examination.

The device was described as a "viable improvised explosive".

There is no further information at this time.
