Boardroom ban slapped on roofing firm boss

By Chris Kilpatrick

A former director of a building and roofing company has been disqualified from occupying a similar role for seven years following a catalogue of financial irregularities.

Henry McQuillan (43) of Loughbeg Road, Toomebridge, Co Antrim, was disqualified in respect of his conduct as a director of McQuillan Roofing Limited, the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment said.

The company went into liquidation in April 2010 with estimated liabilities of over £215,000.

The department accepted the disqualification undertaking from Mr McQuillan on September 27 based on a number of instances of unfit conduct which solely for the purposes of the disqualification procedure were not disputed.

Mr McQuillan failed to co-operate with the official receiver in not providing any information regarding the affairs of the firm.

The company failed to provide annual returns for the years ended February 2005 to February 2008. Mr McQuillan failed to file accounts for the company from March 2005 to March 2007 and from March 2008 to March 2009.
