Body of man recovered from Londonderry's River Foyle

The body of a man has been recovered from the River Foyle.
The body of a man has been recovered from the River Foyle.

It has been confirmed that a body was recovered from Derry's River Foyle on Sunday.

Foyle Search and Rescue Emergency Response Teams were tasked by the Police Service of Northern Ireland to reports of a body being observed in the water.

A mobile unit and two boats responded to the location along with the PSNI.

Foyle Search and Rescue volunteers then recovered the body of a male from the river.

A Foyle Search and Rescue spokesperson said: "The deceased family have been informed and all volunteers and staff offer our sincere condolences to the family concerned."
