A body found in a canal in England has been identified as missing Northern Ireland man Mervyn Craig.
The 46-year-old father-of-four had not been seen for almost a month, after he left the Wigan home of a woman he had befriended online.
Mr Craig, from Lisburn, had told his family he was going to the greater Manchester area for a job on a building site.
The emergency services were called to Wallgate, Wigan, around 9am on Monday after a body was spotted in the water.
A police spokeswoman said: "The body of a man has now been recovered from the water and officers are currently working to establish the circumstances surrounding his death."
Mr Craig, who was insulin-dependent, was last seen at the Arnold Clark Motorstore on Wallgate, Wigan, at around 8pm on Monday, February 8.
