Brothel pair convicted of people trafficking
Two people involved in running brothels in Northern Ireland have been convicted of people trafficking in Scotland.
Stephen Craig (34) and Sarah Ashleigh Beukan (22) pleaded guilty to a contravention of section 22 Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2003.
The charge relates to the accused's involvement in the trafficking of people for the purposes of sexual exploitation. The pair were brought to book after the PSNI's Operation Apsis investigation.
Assisted by Scottish authorities, the PSNI found brothels across the UK.
Inquiries identified the accused as being involved in the management of the premises, travel arrangements and advertisement of their services.
