Burglary at MLA office: two charged
Two men have been remanded in custody after they were charged in connection with the burglary of a DUP MLA’s constituency office.
Shaun Barry Joseph McHugh (23), of Hillhead, Stewartstown, and Daniel Kevin Martin Quinn (25), from Castle Gardens, Dungannon, are accused of entering Lord Morrow’s office and stealing two mobile phones, a television and CCTV computer equipment.
They were also accused of having a claw hammer during the incident on Tuesday.
A detective constable told Dungannon Magistrates Court that they were arrested around 7am on Tuesday on suspicion of being in breach of curfews imposed as part of existing bail terms.
District Judge John Meehan refused them bail. They will appear again by video-link on March 21.
